Meet LIsa Kim

Biography

“ I’m not a politician. I’m a mother, a wife, and a business owner who has grown concerned about the future of our communities. As delegate, I’ll bring a fresh voice and new energy to the Maryland General Assembly, one that values common sense solutions and accountability. ”

Lisa Kim is our best choice for Delegate in 9B.

A Howard Countian with business, civic and community roots, Lisa has worked for the interests of regular folks for years.

As a champion for important causes Lisa understands the value of serving and representing the real people that make up our district.  Her multiple awards and recognitions include the 2016 Congressman Chris Van Hollen Citation in Recognition of Service to Senior Citizens in Howard County. Lisa also helped to establish in Howard County in conjunction with Meals on Wheels, the second ethnic-meal delivery program.  She is a strong advocate for spending tax-dollars wisely and stopped a $60 million TIF for land that has since been developed without taxpayer money. Lisa also served as a Neighborhood Watch President and spearheaded and sponsored PTA dues for parents so they could have a voice in their children’s schools and education.

Lisa is a strong proponent for adults and children with special needs, working for years as an advocate and serving as a church leader in the children with special needs ministry.  She was chosen as the first non-Asian, non-Korean Board member of the 50-year-old organization, the Korean Society of Maryland, headquartered here in Howard County and currently serves on the Board of the international organization the Korean-American Grocers Association, Maryland Chapter.

Lisa founded the 20-year-old company, DocketMasters, and is a financial advisor and wealth management relationship manager and is a former financial analyst for Lockheed Martin under the Hubble Space Telescope umbrella.

Lisa is married to Tae H. Kim, a Howard County attorney. Together, they’re the proud parents of their children, Jason, Jenna and Jackson.
